Jacqueline Tovar
Speech Therapy

Welcome

Jacqueline Tovar is a bilingual (Spanish-English) speech and language therapist. She serves children and their families  in-person in San Mateo County. She provides individual services in the convenience of client's home, as well as virtual services through teletherapy for clients residing anywhere else in CA. Jacqueline believes in building a holistic intervention approach that supports the client's specific communication needs.

About Me.

As a licensed and ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist, I have dedicated my career to helping children thrive in their communication skills. I earned my B.A. and M.A. in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Fullerton, and have been practicing since 2013.

With a focus on the pediatric population aged 2-12, I have worked primarily in educational settings, supporting students with a wide range of needs, including autism, speech sound disorders, developmental language disorders, visual impairments, and stuttering. I particularly enjoy working with young children in their early school years (ages 2-5), as this is a crucial period of rapid language development. My approach is creative and playful, allowing me to engage children in meaningful ways while facilitating their speech and language growth.

I find it essential to work within the child’s familial environment, creating therapeutic opportunities that are practical and meaningful for the child in their immediate surroundings. This holistic approach not only fosters effective communication but also strengthens the connection between therapy and everyday life.

My primary objective is to empower my clients and their families to achieve their communication goals, equipping them with essential life skills for success.

Outside of my professional life, I cherish time with my husband, our two young sons, and our two dogs. As an avid runner, I aim to complete a marathon each year, and I love backpacking with my husband. I look forward to sharing these adventures with my sons as they grow.
